Stan Rawlinson Legal Action
Legal proceedings against Mr Stan Rawlinson in relation to false, malicious and damaging statements made against me and various organisations I am affiliated with, published on his website and repeated by him on several social media sites are now pending.
It has recently been brought to my attention by a person close to Mr Rawlinson and has known him for many years, that he has been under a lot of mental stress and has increasingly been behaving in ‘bizarre and erratic’ ways in public. Whilst this doesn’t relieve or excuse him of his responsibilities with regards to the ongoing hate campaign and fabrication he has made against myself and many others, it does somewhat explain them and I am very sympathetic to anyone who is suffering with health issues. I am hopeful that he can pursue the help he needs and wish him and his family well in his recovery. On this basis, having previously invested much time and energy in defending and counteracting the wild and spurious claims he’s made about me (and others) I now wish to simply acknowledge that he is a man with personality demons he needs to overcome and hope he is able to focus attention on resolving these issues and doing something productive with his days.
Thank you.
As advised by legal counsel, I am publishing the following statement of fact in regard to Mr Stan Rawlinson’s claims made on his website and re-published by him via social media networks.
Mr Rawlinson claims that I and/or the company I work for have claimed ‘DogsBlog.com is a charity’.
His claims emanate from a piece published by The Sun newspaper (link). The Sun have clarified in writing to us, at the time, that referring to DogsBlog.com as a charity was an error on their part. Included below is documentary evidence of this.
As already clarified by both myself and others, neither I nor anyone else representing K9 Media Ltd has ever made such a claim either in email, publicly, by way of a press release or any other form of verbal or written communication.
Further, I include the following documentary proof of communication between K9 Media Ltd and The Sun newspaper clarifying this.
This statement of fact is without prejudice to legal action being pursued against Mr Rawlinson, but to clarify that he has published claims which are categorically untrue, defamatory, damaging and are based entirely on complete fabrications by him as part of an ongoing campaign of abuse. DogsBlog.com and I will continue to serve the rescue charities who use our platform in the service of finding new homes for thousands of dogs.
Email sent to The Sun by Kim Bruce (March 15th, 2009)

Response from Charlotte Martin on behalf of The Sun (received March 16th, 2009)

We have further informed The Sun of our legal position pursuant to action against Mr Rawlinson.
This public statement of fact is made to offset further damage caused by Mr Rawlinson’s defamatory and abusive campaign against me and the organisations I am involved with.
